04 ways to improve your security posture in 2020

In 2019 thousands of data breaches have been exposed, but still, ransomware and malware are looming as a threat and the cybercriminals are adopting more sophisticated ways and techniques to attack. Corporations and government organizations are likely to face more challenges.

The challenges in 2020 are growing and if you are determined to keep your organization safe and achieve a stronger security position in 2020 then these are trends that will help you keep more secure.

Zero trust networks

An organization should adopt zero trust networks to stay more secure these days. Cybercriminals are using weak links to exploit access to networks and making serious damage to your network. Firms should use identity verification for every device and person who wants to get access to your data and should not trust everyone blindly.

Zero trusts require the adoption of various new technologies to deal with problems that were impossible to solve.

Next wave of privacy, security, and compliance

People these days are more concerned about their data and expect businesses to protect their data it holds as expectations for data privacy and security are shifting. A data breach may affect a business lose their reputations, fines, and penalties that can be applied.

A firm needs to consider the third-party risk and perform a proper assessment. The assessment should not only be carried internally but also across the entire business, partners and all. Business firms should be proactive and look ahead to all incoming regulations. They need to implement a wide-reaching security strategy and build a solid foundation for a better future.

Monitoring and detecting emerging threats

A business should understand the need for real-time monitoring and scanning to expose the potential threat. It is important to reduce the gap between a successful attack which leads to malicious payload and your security system detects it on time.

Firm detections techniques should be up-to-date as the cybercriminals are using newly developed techniques to attack. They need to adapt and develop better threat intelligence and must know how to get rid of such attacks.

Phishing attacks and remote browser isolation

Cybercriminals are using social engineering techniques to attack people and gain access to the network. Phishing, Smishing, vishing, and other techniques will be used by the attackers. Phishing is increasing so bigger concern for a security professional.

Firms must use remote browser isolation, through virtualization and containerization technologies to reduce high-risk behaviors like web browsing from critical data and infrastructure.
