Four tips to make cybersecurity training more effective through gamification

According to a research it was estimated that more than 90% of firms feel vulnerable to cyber threat due to their workers. In the era of technology, protecting a business from cyber threat is very important and as well as difficult. Most of the data breaches happen due to inside malicious and it is vital to train the worker about cybersecurity.

Providing training to employees once a year is not enough. They should be trained during different sessions, meetings, and other occasions. Keep on providing more information about cybersecurity will help in reducing the risk of cyber attacks.

To get the interest of employees it is important to make the training more fun and rewarding. It can be made interesting through gaming elements, competitions and rewarding. Gamifying is one the best way to increase the interest of employees.

Given below are few ways gamification can be used to improve cybersecurity within an organization.

Recognize positive cybersecurity behaviors

Employees should be rewards when they follow the rules and regulations of an organization as it helps in encouraging good behavior. Through gamification, the printable badge is made available to the users over sending their 10 and 100th email without triggering a data security alert. Once the employee gets an impressive digital badge collection, a firm should reward them to continue the good behavior.

Talk about data protection

New data protection language can be established through gamification which encourages open dialogue between the employees that helps in handling sensitive data.

Increase frequency of cybersecurity training

Many organizations couldn’t train their employees regular or throughout the year because of lack of time and resources which leads to the cyber threat. To keep an organization sensitive data secure it is important to train on a regular basis or repeatedly through about the year.

Gamification creates a sense of individual employee accountability about data hygiene and ultimately changes in positive and long-time behavior.

Engage employees

In every workplace, the employees can be engaged in game, training and other activities through creating leader board competitions and badge collection. It helps in recognizing good behavior of employees.

Internal communication can be increased which will help in creating new relationships, improving employee engagement across the board.
