4 Reasons why website security is important

cyber security

The cyber attacks are increasing rapidly and last year numbers of cyber attacks have been reported. It has been very important for firms as well as individuals to secure their online devices and accounts, Personal blogs, YouTube channels, and websites are very important to be secured. There are various ways to get protected and secured. Given below are four reasons why it is important to secure websites and blogs.

Hacked Websites Target Your Customers

There are thousands of malware which the malicious attackers use to hack the websites. When a website is hacked the hackers uses the customer’s data and even hijack the entire computer resources. The cyber attackers use hacked websites to gather potential customers and visitors.

The number of hacked sites rises rapidly

The numbers of websites attacked in 2016 were more than 50 million and in 2017 the numbers of data breaches raised its double. In 2018 the hacking of well-known well sites like Facebook, Ticketmaster, and Marriott International, British Airways and much more were reported. Google has notified more than 45 million registered websites through search console through which they were altered about the possible target or problem in websites.

Business Reputation Loss and Drop in Revenue

Worldwide there are more than 1.5 million websites. People rely on a search engine to gather information about products and services. Search engine optimization (SEO) is very important for every business and it helps in gaining profit and revenue.

Every business firm should have well-developed and secured websites. Websites which do not include (HTTPS) is marked as insecure and restricts your customers or visitors from visiting your websites.

When a website gets hacked the customers lose interest and trust which leads in losing the company reputations and customers. The potential customers cannot get access to the network once it is hacked and added to the blacklist.

Website gets blacklisted

A search engine like Google quarantines more than 10,000 websites daily. When the websites are searched or opened a message “this site may harm your system or computer” appears in the search result. This is a warning message because of which the consumers do not visit the website and customers are grateful for warnings.

Once the website gets hacked it is put into the blacklist. And when a website gets blacklist it loses more than 95% of its customers.
